Michael Peltier

It is with sadness and a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Michael Lawrence Peltier at the McClure Miller Respite House on April 13, 2020.  

 
Mike was born on March 23, 1947 in Burlington, Vermont to Gerald and Virginia Peltier.  He was very proud to have served his country in the Marine Corps and served three tours of duty in Vietnam. He was a Life Member of VFW Post 782 in Burlington.
 
Mike was an avid fisherman and loved his fishing boats and motorcycles. He also enjoyed bowling, reading, gardening, and watching his Philadelphia Eagles. He leaves behind Catherine Burns Peltier, his devoted wife of 32 years and partner for 38 years.  He also leaves a brother, Danny Lee Peltier and his wife, Dawn, of Columbia, SC and a sister, Laurie Peltier Murphy of Burlington, Vermont. He was predeceased by his mother, Virginia Peltier, his father, Gerald Peltier and a brother, Stephen Peltier. He also leaves behind a nephew, Scott Peltier Murphy, of Stowe, VT and a niece, Dr. Katelyn Peltier and her husband, Tom McCutcheon, of Greenwood, SC. He leaves behind his father and mother-in-law, John and Joan Burns of Vero Beach, Fl as well as his brother and sister-in-laws, Stephen (and Valerie) Burns, Barbara Burns Maynard, Julie Burns, Linda (and Tim) Riley, TJ (and Wendy) Burns, Bob Burns, and Billy (and Maria) Burns and several nieces and nephews.
 
 
Michael was very grateful for the special friendship he had with Rick Munsel, Stu Robinson and Marty Martines.
 
Michael was a Corrections Officer, then a Probation and Parole Officer for many years in the Burlington Corrections System.  He is loved and will be missed by many.
